Project Description

Ravenwood started out simply as a desire to "build our dream home". While a Dream Home by its very nature is far from simple, I think this project has taken on aspects that qualify it a step or two above a Dream Home.

There are so many different aspects to this house, that it was difficult to decide on exaclty what should be covered in a "Project Description". So use one of the links below to get more information about a particular aspect of Ravenwood, and what it entails.

I'm still working on all of this information, some preliminary pages have been put into place for a couple of the items, they will be expanded upon in the future. The sections that don't currently have links attached to them aren't even started yet.

Initial Concepts
All projects need to start somewhere. Ravenwood got its start long before we met with the architect, and many (but not all) of the original design ideas ended up in the final blueprints.
An Invented History
Even though Ravenwood will be a new house, it is important to us that it has the character and charm often found in older estates across Europe. Part of the design of the house incorporates the concept of an actual historical evolution of how Ravenwood might have been constructed over several generations.
Destination Points
Almost every room in the house was carefully designed to address a specific need, as well as fit in with the rooms around it. Here, we'll take a tour through all of the rooms of the house so you can see how everything fits together.
The Right Tool For the Right Job
Ravenwood isn't just a house, it is a system. There are numerous products and technologies that are going into the construction and eventual functionality of this house that are important to how well the house will work when it is completed.
